Rayquaza VMAX Alternate Art
#218/203 · Secret Rare
PSA 10: $400–$1,200
Rayquaza soaring through a storm with electricity crackling around it. The Evolving Skies set marked the return of Dragon-type Pokémon after a four-year absence, and Rayquaza headlined it perfectly.
Espeon VMAX Alternate Art
#208/203 · Secret Rare
PSA 10: $300–$900
Espeon set against soft dawn light with a psychic-energy aura. The pair with Umbreon VMAX Alt Art makes these two cards a matching set that collectors actively pursue together.
Vaporeon Alternate Art
#184/203 · Secret Rare
PSA 10: $200–$600
Vaporeon swimming in a sunlit underwater scene — a beautifully composed artwork that stands out even among the set's strong Eeveelution cards. A solid collector piece at a lower price point than Umbreon or Espeon.
Jolteon Alternate Art
#186/203 · Secret Rare
PSA 10: $150–$500
Jolteon mid-sprint with electricity sparking from its fur. Evolving Skies gave each Eeveelution a unique environment appropriate to their type — Jolteon's open-air storm scene is dynamic and energetic.
Flareon Alternate Art
#188/203 · Secret Rare
PSA 10: $150–$450
Flareon surrounded by autumn leaves and warm ember lighting. Among the most warmly illustrated cards in the set, and a key Eeveelution for collectors building a complete alternate art set.
Sylveon VMAX Alternate Art
#212/203 · Secret Rare
PSA 10: $200–$600
Sylveon VMAX in a sunlit garden scene — the Fairy-type Eeveelution in full alternate art glory. A top collector pick from the set and a must-have for Sylveon fans.
Rayquaza V Alternate Art
#194/203 · Secret Rare
PSA 10: $100–$300
The V-form alt art of Rayquaza pairs with the VMAX version to form a two-card Rayquaza collection. Often pursued alongside the VMAX Alt Art by Dragon-type collectors.
The Eeveelution set
Evolving Skies is the only modern English set to feature all eight Eeveelutions as Alternate Art cards. Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon each received a dedicated full-art alternate illustration — alongside V, VMAX, and standard versions of several. No other set in the modern era approaches this density of Eeveelution content, and with no reprint planned, the set's secondary market supply is fixed.
Dragon returns to the TCG
Dragon-type Pokémon had been absent from the Pokémon TCG since 2017, when the Unified Minds format rotated Dragon-type cards out. Evolving Skies reintroduced Dragon types to the card game after four years — and did so with Rayquaza as the marquee Dragon-type Pokémon. The Rayquaza VMAX Alternate Art became the dragon card of the modern era and drove massive interest from collectors who had missed Dragon-type Pokémon cards.
No reprint in the Scarlet & Violet era
Unlike some Sword & Shield era sets that received high-class reprints or reprint products, Evolving Skies' specific alternate art cards have not been reprinted in Scarlet & Violet format. The fixed supply of PSA 10 Umbreon VMAX Alt Art, Rayquaza VMAX Alt Art, and Espeon VMAX Alt Art means prices are supported by genuine scarcity, not just collector enthusiasm.
What is the pull rate for Umbreon VMAX Alt Art in Evolving Skies?
The Umbreon VMAX Alternate Art (#215/203) is a Secret Rare in Evolving Skies. Secret Rares pull approximately once every 3–4 booster boxes (around 1 in 100–130 packs), and there are multiple Secret Rares in the set — making any specific Secret Rare pull exceptionally rare. Statistically you'd need to open 5–10 booster boxes on average to pull a single Umbreon VMAX Alt Art.
Is Evolving Skies still worth buying in 2026?
Single-card purchases of PSA-graded Evolving Skies Alt Arts remain strong collector investments with proven secondary market demand. Opening packs is not recommended from a value perspective — the expected value of opening a booster box is well below the retail price at 2026 secondary market conditions. Buying graded singles or entering a spot break is a much more efficient way to acquire Evolving Skies cards.
How many Alternate Art cards are in Evolving Skies?
Evolving Skies has 8 Alternate Art Pokémon cards (one for each Eeveelution in V or VMAX form) plus additional Trainer Alternate Art cards. The 8 main Eeveelution Alternate Arts are: Umbreon VMAX, Espeon VMAX, Sylveon VMAX, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Glaceon, and Leafeon. Rayquaza V and Rayquaza VMAX also have Alternate Art versions, making 10 total Pokémon Alternate Arts.
Can I list an Evolving Skies card on CatchaBreaks?
