The Evolving Skies factor
Evolving Skies (August 2021) is the only modern English set to feature all eight Eeveelutions as Alternate Art cards — Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon each received full-art treatment. The set became an instant collector favourite and is now one of the most sought-after modern sets to open or buy singles from. The Umbreon VMAX Alternate Art in particular reached near-legendary status, selling for $3,000–$4,000 at PSA 10 in the months after release.
The Gold Star rarity tier
POP Series 5 (2007) is one of the rarest Pokémon TCG sets ever produced — distributed only through organised play events at local Pokémon League locations. The set contained Gold Star versions of several Eeveelutions, most notably Espeon, Umbreon, and the earlier Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon Gold Stars from the EX Team Rocket Returns era. These cards are effectively impossible to find in raw condition and near-impossible to find at PSA 10, which drives five-figure prices for the best examples.
Fan demand that doesn't fade
Eevee and its evolutions have been a defining part of the Pokémon franchise since Generation 1. As Generations added new evolutions (Espeon and Umbreon in Gen 2, Leafeon and Glaceon in Gen 4, Sylveon in Gen 6), the Eeveelution collective grew into one of the most beloved groups in all of Pokémon. What is the rarest Eeveelution card?
In terms of raw scarcity, the Gold Star Eeveelutions from POP Series 5 and earlier EX series sets are the rarest. Espeon Gold Star and Umbreon Gold Star from POP Series 5 have very small PSA 10 populations and regularly sell for $50,000–$80,000 at that grade. For modern cards, the Umbreon VMAX Alternate Art from Evolving Skies is the most expensive and desirable.
