Pokémon Scarlet & Violet — 151 (SV151) celebrates the original 151 Kanto Pokémon with stunning Special Art Rare illustrations, a beloved Kanto roster, and some of the most desirable modern chase cards. Here's everything collectors need to know.
Win a Graded SV151 Card →Pokémon Scarlet & Violet — 151 (product code SV3.5) launched in September 2023 as a special celebration set honouring the original 151 Pokémon from Red & Blue. The set spans 165 cards with 22 additional Secret Rares, giving collectors a total sheet of 187 cards to chase.
SV151 was notable for bringing back every Kanto Pokémon in the modern Scarlet & Violet card style — including full-art ex cards for iconic Pokémon like Mew, Mewtwo, Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur. The Special Art Rare (SAR) cards in this set are among the most visually impressive in the entire Scarlet & Violet era.
The set used a special illustration style across all 165 base cards — every card has a unique painted-quality artwork reminiscent of original Ken Sugimori art. This cohesive aesthetic made SV151 instantly popular with both long-time collectors and nostalgia-driven buyers.
The marquee card of SV151. The Mew ex SAR features a breathtaking full-bleed illustration of Mew floating in space with sparkles and DNA strands. One of the most-graded modern Pokémon cards and consistently among the top-valued SARs from this era.
As always, the Charizard card in any set commands the highest premium. The SV151 Charizard ex SAR shows Charizard in a dramatic fire-lit scene. PSA 10 copies are the most sought-after card in the entire set from an investment standpoint.
The Blastoise ex SAR features the Water-type starter in a stunning ocean scene. Blastoise has a dedicated collector fanbase and high-grade copies of this SAR are consistently in demand.
The Venusaur ex SAR rounds out the starter trio with lush green forest artwork. Third in demand among the starters but still a strong collector target at high grade.
Mewtwo ex SAR shows the Genetic Pokémon in a stark, atmospheric illustration that echoes the tone of Mewtwo Strikes Back. One of the more popular SARs outside the Charizard/Mew tier.
The Eevee ex SAR depicts Eevee surrounded by the silhouettes of its eight evolutions. A beautiful card and a strong target for Eeveelution collectors. Graded copies in PSA 10 hold their value well.
The Gengar ex SAR is a fan favourite for its playful ghost imagery. Gengar's longtime popularity in the TCG and as a character ensures strong demand for high-grade copies.
Alakazam ex SAR features stunning psychic imagery. Psychic-type collectors and fans of the original Kanto Pokémon make this a consistent seller at all grades.
