The set centers on Giratina and the twisted dimension, featuring some of the most visually striking artwork of the Sword & Shield era. Its alternate art rare cards — especially Giratina VSTAR — command prices that rival even post-SV sets.
The Giratina VSTAR Alternate Art Rare (AAR) #193 is worth $200–500+ in mint condition. This makes it one of the most valuable SWSH-era singles, and the primary reason Lost Origin is an elite break set. It goes to the Psychic slot owner in any break format.

Lost Origin is unusual in that a single card (Giratina VSTAR Alt Art) is worth 5–10x more than any other card in the set. This makes Psychic the most lopsided S+ slot of any SWSH set. If you want the absolute highest upside in a Lost Origin break, Psychic is the only slot to target.
Fighting is a surprising secondary chase — Aerodactyl VSTAR was an extremely popular competitive card in the Lost Zone archetype, driving collector demand alongside its playability.
Comfey is a Grass-type that became a competitive staple as the engine of the Lost Zone Box deck. Its tournament demand keeps its value elevated even though it's a V-less common — worth $3–8 per copy, which adds up over a box.
