Silver Tempest Pokemon Card Break — Lugia V Star & Final SWSH Set Guide

The last Sword & Shield set. Lugia V Star Alt Art, Regidrago V Star, Alolan Vulpix V Star — here's what every slot is worth in Silver Tempest breaks.

SWSH12 · Silver Tempest · Nov 2022

Silver Tempest released November 2022 as the final main Sword & Shield set, bridging the gap before the Scarlet & Violet era. It brought 5 Alternate Art cards, a strong Lugia V Star centerpiece, and enough Gold Secret Rares to keep break value competitive. If you're looking at SWSH-era breaks, Silver Tempest is consistently one of the more balanced options.

Lugia V Star Alt Art — The Chase Card

Card 211/195 (Lugia V Star Alternate Art) is the set's centerpiece. Lugia has one of the strongest collector fanbases in Pokemon — the Legendary Bird is perpetually in demand. This Alt Art features dynamic artwork that collectors have consistently valued above average.

Current market: Raw NM $80-150 · PSA 9 $150-280 · PSA 10 $300-600+

The regular Lugia V Star (non-alt) also pulls decent value at $15-35 raw. Colorless slot holds two Lugia targets plus any Colorless-type commons.

Regidrago V Star Alt Art

Dragon slot's main pull. Regidrago V Star Alt Art (card 215/195) is more niche but holds $25-60 raw. Dragon collectors and Regi-set completionists drive demand. Not Rayquaza-tier but a real hit for Dragon slot holders.

Alolan Vulpix V Star Alt Art

The Psychic slot's highlight — Alolan Vulpix Alt Art (card 209/195) is a fan-favorite design at $30-70 raw. Ice-type aesthetics and Alolan variant demand keep it moving on the secondary market.

V Star Format vs VMAX — What Changed for Breaks

Silver Tempest uses V Star cards instead of VMAX (which ended with Evolving Skies era). V Star cards are slightly smaller in physical size and tend to have lower pull rates for Alt Arts than VMAX-era sets. The trade-off: Lugia V Star Alt Art is one of the cleanest Alt Art compositions in all of SWSH, which sustains its premium price.

Silver Tempest box value: A typical 36-pack box yields 1-2 Alt Arts at current print runs. With Colorless as the S-tier slot, expect break hosts to price it 1.5-2x above base slots in draft-pick formats.

Gold Secret Rares

Silver Tempest includes Gold versions of Items and Supporters (cards 196-203). These are typically assigned to a "Trainer" slot if the break host offers one, or distributed as a bonus pull to whoever's slot type is listed on the card's typing. Always confirm the Gold card rules with your host before joining.
